Soča:

Soča inspired the poet Simon Gregorčič to write his best-known poem Soči (To the Soča), one of the masterpieces of Slovene poetry.
Soča, Slovenian mountain beauty, with its emerald colour that never fades away impresses every visitor. Its beauty and its unique Marble trout attract a lot of fishers from all over the world.

Lepena:

Lepena is Soča’s left inflow in the upper part. In some of its big pools smaller Marble trouts can be found. Lepena is short but long enough to satisfy every fisher.

Tolminka:

Soča’s left inflow at Tolmin. Tolminka with its gorges represents a unique natural phenomenon. Access in its upper part is slightly difficult while its lower part is easy to reach.

Bača:

Idrijca’s inflow Bača can be described as every fisher’s dream in spring. That is the time when fishing in Soča is more demanding due to snow water. Despite its low water it hides Marble trouts of enviable sizes.
In Bača you can find a lot of Graylings and Rainbow trouts. Bača is only 20 kilometers long but impresses with its diversity.

Trebuščica:

Idrijca’s left inflow in the lower part. Because of its numerous pools it is most suitable for those fishers who love peace and quiet. A river known for its excellent dry fly fishing.

Idrijca:

Fly fishing in its light green pools is very popular. Fishers love it and are rarely disappointed. Although demanding, fly fishing pleases beginners and certainly those with a lot of fly fishing experience. Idrijca is with its deep pools, fast rapids and surprisingly slow flow in certain places a very diverse river. A lot of different kinds of fish can be found here.

Rižana:

Is a karst river springing under Hrastovlje and flowing into The Adriatic Sea. Mild climate allows early spring fishing beginning March 1st. Great River trout, Hybrid as well as the more and more frequent Marble trout can be found here.

Unec:

Is a karst river with very good fish living conditions. A slow river which flows over the whole length of Planinsko polje. In Europe it is most famous as a Grayling’s river since graylings over 50 cm can be caught. It attracts fly fishers from all over the world in May fly time. Fishing in Unec demands a lot of experience and knowledge.

Sava Bohinjka:

Sava Bohinjka is born when the waters of the Savica waterfall disappear into Lake Bohinj, and when the stream at the end of the lake joins the river Mostnica. In Radovljica, Sava Bohinjka joins Sava Dolinka and together they flow as the longest Slovene river Sava. The river shows its strength by breaking through tight stony areas. Beside River trouts, American trouts and Graylings, Salmons which are known as kings of our rivers can be found.

Radovna:

Radovna as a part of the Triglav national park is a very attractive fly fishing river. One of its main tourist attractions is the Vintgar gorge. In its upper part we only find River trouts, otherwise it is known as the home of Rainbow trouts and River brook trouts. Radovna reaches peak fishing season in the middle of the summer because of its suitable temperatures.

Sava Dolinka:

It springs in the outmost North- Western part of Slovenija, close to the Italian border. In Sava Dolinka one can find River trouts and Rainbow trouts, which can reach enviable sizes. Sava Dolinka is known for its accumulation lake where belly boat fishing is possible.

Kokra:

Kokra is a small alpine river, springing in Jezersko. Mostly known for River and Rainbow trouts. In this short river, from Preddvor down, it is also possible to fish for Graylings of great sizes.

Savinja and Dreta:

Savinja is born under Okrešelj as a beautiful 90 meters high waterfall, named Rinka. Most beautiful fly fishing is possible in the Upper Savinja valley, which stretches till Soteska under Mozirje. More than half of its flow is inhabited by River trouts, Rainbow trouts and Graylings. From Ljubno ob Savinji down we can also find Salmons over meter in length. In Nazarje Dreta joins Savinja. Dreta is a slow and calm river, good for dry fly fishers.

Krka:

A karst river which waters run from a pool to pool, over cascades overgrown with moss, which offer numerous fish great hiding places. All of the here living Danubian river basin fishes are represented in Krka. River and Rainbow trouts prevail. The best time for fishing in Krka is from the mid March till the end of June. Salmon can also be found.

Kolpa:

In its upper and middle part Kolpa borders on Croatia. Main fly fishing fish are Graylings, River trouts can also be found but mainly in the upper part. Kolpa is great for fishers who love to fly fish with a dry fly. Salmon is also its inhabitant and can be caught with a fly fishing rod.

Sora:

From both Selška and Poljanska Sora the latter is more appropriate for fishing. On its 43 kilometers long journey its flow is slowed down by dams. It is a typical Grayling river where fly fishing with a dry fly is possible through the whole year. River trouts of enviable sizes can be caught. In Škofja Loka it is joined with Selška Sora which is known for its capital River trouts. Sora is a great river for Salmon fishing.

Tržiška Bistrica:

It springs below the Karavanke Mountains and joins Sava as its left inflow. Its water is very cold and has torrential characteristics with lots of artificial dams. Mostly known for Rainbow trouts and River trouts of enviable sizes.

Kamniška Bistrica:

It is a typical Alpine river known for its low temperatures even in the summer. In its upper part one can only find River trouts. In Kamnik Graylings and American trouts start to appear. Water is suitable for dry fly fishing.
